Why slouch?

For a Christian pianist, the study of correct posture should be a spiritual exercise. If you believe that you are made in the image of God, and that it is your "vocation to make God manifest" (CCC 2085), then it is your job in everything you do to carry yourself in such a way that anyone who observes you comes to know God better for it. But God is firm, capable, and unlimited. Thus should you be when you sit at the piano: your feet planted before you, steadying and supporting your nobly erect spine and head; your chest out and shoulders back, conveying confidence and mastery; your arms loose, ready, and unconstrained.

Need I add that there is no reason to limit this practice to piano performance? Why do you let yourself slouch at table, in the car, even in the pews at Mass, if God made you to manifest Him?
